Rendered Goat Rider
As the prior assignment detailed, I assembled this goat rider out of pre-existing models crafted by other people. I did little more than load them into Rhino and rotate them slightly. However, I was given praise by a peer in class for my choice of models to assemble, and my creativity in doing so. I feel that that praise is unwarranted in so much as I feel I have done very little worthy of creative praise considering the circumstances. Ultimately they did not affect my rendering.
However, I have no such qualms receiving praise over the renders presented here, as the posing, lighting, and framing of them are as much part of their charm as the subject model in question. That being said, there really is only one render that I enjoy artistically, and the rest are for the benefit of the curious viewer who wishes to see more of the model from different angles, as rendered with the artistic lighting and relevant textures.
All in all I find remix art to be fun and entertaining, but a curious thing to contend with when one considers offering praise. Is it really praise worthy to simply conglomerate the work of others? Maybe. Is it praise worthy to present that work transformatively? I believe that sort of praise certainly holds more merit.
